Rawa Idli Veggies Fry




Do your kids like Idlis? If the answer to these questions is a big NO, then We have the right recipe for you. Only one or two steps which include a lot of veggies hence nutrition, the delicious snack can be made. Rava Idli is a very popular South Indian breakfast dish that is very simple & quick to prepare at home. Rawa Idli fry is a favorite and takes less than 15 minutes to prepare, usually prepared as a breakfast with Lively, refreshing flavors.  Any recipe prepared with leftover idlis makes every stomach happy & it is so quick to prepare you will definitely fall in love. It does not require any elaborate grinding like the traditional idli and is the best alternative to Rice & dal idli.

This steamed Rawa idlis when fried with veggies, It is real delight to tummy. Rava Idli is steamed with no oil and no spices it is an ideal dish for everyone.



It’s basically a Soth-Indian recipe. If you are in South India then one thing which will always follow you everywhere is Idli-Sambar. Be it a small hotel, Big 5-star hotel or street shop. The white, soft, fluffy and steaming Idlis with a bowl of mouth-watering Sambar and Coconut Chutney will satisfy your gut.
Here We are posting a recipe a quick version of idli called Rava Idlis, which is fried with the goodness of veggies. The only common thing between Rice idlis and Rava idlis are their shape and the way they are steam cooked. The ingredients, method of preparing the batter, color and taste everything is different from one another.


Ingredients:


2Cup of fine RAWA
1Cup of curd
1Cup of shallots
½ cup grated carrot
½ cup sweet corn
2 strings of curry leaves
2 slit green chilies
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tbsp gingelly oil
½ tsp urad dal
1 tsp black pepper powder
1 tsp lemon juice
Salt as per taste

Recipe:


Mix curd & rawa with 1 cup of water

Soak this batter for half an hour

Add little salt in the batter & grease the idli mold (using here microwave-safe bowl).

Pour the batter in the idli mold and microwave for 2-3 mins.

In the meantime chop the shallots

Pour oil & as it got heat up add mustard seeds, Urda dal & green chilies

Add onion & curry leaves. Fry it for 1 min.

Add grated carrot & salt. Cook it for 2-3 mins.

Add sweet corn (This gives very sweet taste to idli & great texture).

Add cut rawa idli & mix well.

Lastly, garnish with pepper & squeeze lemon juice.

PS: Don’t worry if you don’t have IDLI Steamer. Here we are using a Microwaved mold of idli & It is good as long as you eat fresh & hot. Keeping Idlis & eating later made in this microwave is not recommended.
We have used these limited vegetables, You can use any vegetables of your choice.
For great taste, you can drizzle it with ghee.
