Coconut Chutney is a South Indian dip being served with Idli, Dosa and Vadai varieties. South Indian breakfast items like Idli and Dosa are incomplete without coconut chutney. Coconuts are good fat which one should must include in their diet. There are several chutney recipes from the south Indian cuisine palette but without any doubt, coconut chutney is the king of all chutneys. Perhaps the popularity of south Indian breakfast recipes is incomplete without the existence of nariyal chutney recipe. This chutney is best served with dosas & idli.

This is a very easy quick tasty & healthiest chutney recipe you will come across. Various versions of nariyal chutney are available in different states of India. Some people use gram dal or peanuts & some people make it plain. Here we are using roasted chana. It gives the best taste. Our other variants of chutney will also go well with dosa & idlis like mint coconut chutney or peanut chutney. We Indian eating habits always try to bring the authentic taste of North-India & south-India. Try our all chutneys here.
One thing to be noted here that coconut chutney is the best taste when it is freshly made. It cannot be preserved & kept for a long time. so consuming as soon as we prepare is recommended.

Ingredients:
1/2 coconut cut into cubes
2 green chilies
2 tbsp roasted chana dal
small piece of tamarind
salt as per taste
Tadka:
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 string of curry leaf
1 tsp coconut oil
2 dry red chili

Recipe:
Mix all chutney ingredients in the blender jar. blend it into a fine paste.

Add salt in chutney & tadka.
Serve it with your staple breakfast.
