Ingredients for Dry Fruit, Nut, and Seed Chikki

For the Nuts and Seeds:

  • Almonds: ¼ cup
  • Cashews: ¼ cup
  • Walnuts: ¼ cup
  • Pistachios: ¼ cup
  • Sunflower Seeds: 1 tbsp
  • Pumpkin Seeds: 1 tbsp
  • Sesame Seeds: 1 tbsp
  • Grated Dry Coconut: 1 tbsp
  • Chironji (Charoli): 1 tbsp

For the Chikki Base:

  • Jaggery (Desi Gud): 1 cup (chopped or broken into pieces)
  • Ghee: 1 tsp

Step-by-Step Recipe

1. Prepare the Ingredients

  • Dry roast almonds, cashews, walnuts, and pistachios separately in a pan. Let them cool, then coarsely crush them using a blender or crusher.
  • Dry roast sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, grated coconut, and chironji separately. Set aside.

2. Prepare the Jaggery nuts and seed mixture

  • Heat a heavy-bottomed pan on low flame and add combine the roasted nuts, seeds & the chopped jaggery. Stir gently until it melts completely and coat all nuts.
  • Add 1 tsp of ghee to the melted jaggery nut mixture and mix well to achieve a glossy texture.

3. Combine and Shape

  • Quickly add the nut-and-seed mixture to the pan with melted jaggery. Mix thoroughly until all the nuts and seeds are well-coated.
  • Line a plate or tray with baking paper (butter paper). Transfer the hot chikki mixture onto it.
  • Place another sheet of baking paper on top and use a rolling pin or flat spatula to gently flatten the mixture into an even layer.

4. Cut and Store

  • Allow the chikki to cool slightly until it sets. Cut it into desired shapes (squares, rectangles, or diamonds).
  • Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks or enjoy fresh!
